Dutton Social Care & Nursing are currently working in partnership with a small residential provider to recruit for a Trainee Care Manager to work at their 32 bedded care home in Barnsley.
The role would be ideal for a passionate and driven senior/deputy manager/ care co-Ordinator who wants to learn from a very strong mentor without initially have the responsible of being the registered manager. The home is a small residential home for older people with dementia and support needs and you have the flexibility to work the 40 hours per week any hours between Monday to Friday - this could be ideal if the candidate had children and wanted to drop them off at school or pick them up. The registered manager has worked in the sector for over 20 years and you will work very closely with her on a day to day basis. You will take full responsibility for the day to day operations of the shift, the floor, the staff on duty and the rota. The Registered manager will still hold the registration but will train you up on the CQC framework, inspection reports and action plans, care planning system, audit systems, remain the contact for local authorities but introduce you to them and the process of filling a bed. The home is currently full and very rarely uses agency staff. You will take part in the on call rota which is shared between the managers in the company and the senior care assistants and you can either take the time back in lieu or take it paid per hour.
Managers are entitled to an annual bonus based on occupancy targets, the home is currently full so expected annual bonus would be between 5-7k which can be paid monthly or at the end of each financial year.
This really is a great opportunity for a very experienced senior or deputy who wants to take the step into being a home manager whilst learning from a very strong registered manager.
